Mark Payne, Vice President of Operations for Linksys

Mark Payne is the Vice President of Operations for Linksys, a Division of Cisco.  He is responsible for all of the company’s supply chain departments and their activities worldwide including manufacturing, logistics, procurement, forecasting and planning, information technology, engineering services, call centers and real estate.  His main focus when he started at Linksys in 2006 was to realign all organizations and implement new cross-functional business processes that would increase the bottom line.

Payne has more than 17 years of experience in the IT, Chemical and Food industry.  He has served in various executive roles including Polaroid, where he served as VP, Operations.  He helped lead the company out of bankruptcy and into profitability.  He also led organizations at HP/Compaq and Uncle Bens Inc. a M&M Mars Corporation.

Mark Payne is also an Author.  He has written the business book Make the Numbers, Don’t Chase the Numbers (2007).  The book was written to teach a simple structure and process that allows all departments in a business to work together with a common set of numbers, structure, and language to continuously manage the details of a complex business. Mark has developed a methodology called Make The Numbers Approach (MTNA) to solve these common problems in business. MTNA is an “all in one concept” that is designed to allow a business to continuously plan, decide, and adjust the future demand and supply activity in order to maximize profit potential.

Payne holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Quantitative Business Analysis and Marketing from Baylor University in Waco Texas.
