Video Viewing Increases on Tablets, Decreases on PCs: J.D. Power

June 21, 2012 · Posted in M&E Daily, Today's M&E Connections

Approximately two in 10 consumers who pay for television or video services (18 percent) now watch content on tablet devices, an increase from 11 percent in 2011, according to a new study by J.D. Power and Associates.

These consumers spend an average of 4.4 hours per week viewing content on tablets — less than on any other device, which J.D. Power says is likely due to tablets’ relatively short battery life and small screen size. But the increase in tablet usage coincides with a decrease among consumers in using PCs or Macs to watch paid video content — from 48 percent in 2011 to 39 percent in 2012.

More findings from the study are here.
