Will Google’s Nexus Q Move the Needle on Home Streaming, Second Screen?

Google’s forthcoming Nexus Q features the ability to stream music, movies, and video from Google’s online Play store and YouTube to TVs and home entertainment systems — and it can be controlled wirelessly with an Android smartphone or tablet. The device, announced Wednesday, would seem positioned to rival Apple TV in features, while matching Apple’s AirPlay in second-screen functionality. But the Nexus Q’s $299 price tag — a $200 premium over Apple TV — has analysts scratching their heads (via Computerworld).
Meanwhile, Venture Beat wonders where the Nexus Q leaves development for Google TV — or vice versa.
