Hollywood continues to see promise in China’s Internet video services, as NBCUniversal International Television Distribution enters a multi-year agreement with Youku Inc. for the licensing of catalog and new release films.

Youku will feature on its paid Premium service an annual rotating selection of some 100 films from NBCUniversal’s catalog. New films such as “Battleship” and “Snow White & The Huntsman” also will appear on Youku’s platform after their China theatrical releases, according to the companies.

Youku — which is publicly traded in the U.S. — also has signed video licensing agreements with Disney, Paramount, DreamWorks, Warner Bros., and 20th Century Fox. In March, the company announced plans to combine with rival Tudou Holdings in a stock transaction.
