Blu-ray Set-Top Base Now 11% Of Homes

The percentage is nearly double the 6% base the format claimed one year ago.
Also contributing to Blu-ray’s acceptance, NPD says, is broadening penetration of HDTV screens. According to NPD’s April 2010 survey, 64% of homes have a flat-panel TV, up from 61% in 2009. By NPD

Blu-ray is finally starting to make significant advances market.”
Recent research by In-Stat found the following:
• Shipments of network-enabled Blu-ray players/recorders will approach 80 million units by 2013.
• Eight percent of US survey respondents with at least some interest in purchasing a Blu-ray player cited cost as a barrier.
