Pete Deutschman is Chief Buddy and Founder of the digital engagement
authority, The Buddy Group. Since the agency’s launch in 2006, Pete
and his team have helped brands reach the right audiences through the
innovative use of technologies, combining powerful storytelling and great
marketing to launch over 200 products across mobile, web and connected
television. Under Pete’s vision, The Buddy Group is home to one of the first in-agency, state-of-the-art
sound stages for creating interactive content for clients such as Monster Energy, Western Digital, Google,
YouTube, Epson and McDonald’s. In the years before launching The Buddy Group, Pete held executive positions
VPI, Iconixx and in the original audience engagement platform: Broadway theater. He has developed the
onlinepresence for celebrities (Ashton Kutcher and Melanie Griffith), fashion icons (Kenneth Cole), business
giants (Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp and AOL),entertainment wizards (literally: Harry Potter I and II) and the
first everonline film festival (Hypnotic by Universal). In 2010, Pete coined the term “Connected14” to describe
how brands can integrate consumer engagement experiences between connected devices: 1 ft (the distance
between users andtheir mobile devices), 3 ft (laptop/tablet) and 10 ft (television). In addition to Chief
Buddy, Pete now shares his knowledge through The Buddy Group Connected14 Exclusive Content Series,
launched at CES in January 2012. See recent interviews at http://www.connected14.com
